UAE Space Sector Launches Intensive 16-Week Training Pipeline for Local Talent

Space42, the Abu Dhabi-based space and technology company, has launched the Future Spacers Program, a structured 16-week training initiative designed to build specialized talent for the UAE’s emerging space sector. The program places Emirati students directly inside Space42’s operational facilities, exposing them to live industry challenges rather than simulated classroom exercises.

The first cohort began in 2026, drawing participants from Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and Zayed University, alongside students identified through the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). Entry requirements are specific: enrollment in a relevant STEM field, a minimum GPA threshold, and a formal interview. The program operates within the National Space Strategy 2031, which positions talent development as a core priority alongside technical infrastructure.

The curriculum runs across three distinct components. Theoretical instruction covers space-based technology applications and AI-driven data analysis. Practical modules, guided by industry specialists, address real business challenges drawn from Space42’s own operational environment. A third strand targets workplace competencies, including problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and adaptability. Participants who complete the program receive Space42 certification, a credential formally recognized by partner universities and educational authorities.
