DUBAI — Kauana Bilhar, a 27-year-old Brazilian social media influencer who had been living in Dubai for approximately two years, died Tuesday after falling from the 27th floor of a skyscraper in the city. Her uncle confirmed the death to the Brazilian news outlet G1.
Bilhar fell from her balcony. Authorities have released few details about the circumstances, and an investigation remains ongoing.
The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is actively monitoring the case. The ministry said it “remains available to the family to provide appropriate consular assistance” through the Brazilian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, signaling formal engagement as officials work to establish a complete account of what occurred.
Two days after her death, Bilhar’s mother, Darla, posted a video to Instagram addressing the public response. She described living through “the worst moment of my life” and said she felt compelled to defend her daughter’s memory against what she characterized as unfounded accusations and commentary circulating online since the death.
“I have to watch my daughter’s memory being judged, exposed, disrespected by people who didn’t know her story,” Darla said in the video, as translated from Portuguese. “It’s easy to be a judge when the pain belongs to someone else. It’s hard to imagine what our family is going through right now.”
Darla emphasized that her daughter could no longer respond to the claims being directed at her. The post reflected a family grappling not only with sudden loss but also with the public scrutiny that has accompanied it.
By the time of her death, Bilhar had built a following of more than 21,000 across her social media accounts. Her posts regularly featured luxury travel photography, images from across the Middle East, and personal selfies, documenting a life she shared openly with her online audience.
Dubai authorities have not yet released detailed findings from their investigation. Whether the full circumstances of her death will be made public depends on what that review ultimately determines.
