Kauana Bilhar, a 27-year-old Brazilian social media personality with more than 21,000 Instagram followers, died Tuesday after falling from the balcony of her 27th-floor residence in Dubai.

Her uncle confirmed the death to the Brazilian news outlet G1, noting that Bilhar had been living in Dubai for the previous two years. Authorities have released few specifics about the circumstances of the fall, and an investigation remains underway.

Bilhar’s mother, Darla, broke her silence Thursday through an Instagram video post, calling the experience the “worst moment of my life.” She directed her frustration at the wave of online commentary that followed her daughter’s death, describing accusations, negative commentary, and fabricated narratives circulating on social platforms. Bilhar, she pointed out, cannot defend herself against any of it.

“I have to watch my daughter’s memory being judged, exposed, disrespected by people who didn’t know her story,” Darla said, as translated from Portuguese. “It’s easy to be a judge when the pain belongs to someone else. It’s hard to imagine what our family is going through right now.”

The statement was both a grieving mother’s plea and a direct rebuttal. Bilhar’s Instagram presence had centered on lifestyle content, including luxury travel photography, images from across the Middle East, and personal selfies. That public-facing identity made her account a target for speculation almost immediately after news of her death spread.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is “monitoring the case and remains available to the family to provide appropriate consular assistance” through the Brazilian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The ministry’s involvement follows standard protocol for deaths of Brazilian nationals abroad, ensuring families receive diplomatic support during investigations and any subsequent proceedings.
